Sisu A-45

     Notes: This is a Finnish medium truck designed for off-road use.  The A-45 has a high suspension and large tires, along with good shock absorbers for excellent off-road performance.  The frame is of hard steel and the rest of the truck's construction is also steel.  The sides and tailgate can be folded down, and the cargo area may be covered with canvas over bows.  The cab is fully enclosed, but has no roof hatch, and the driver has an adjustable seat. The cab roof is fiberglass and is detachable. There is a winch in the center of the vehicle underneath, with a capacity of 6.5 tons and 60 meters of cable, which may be led out to the front or back.  The A-45 may be powered by an L6 diesel developing 130 horsepower, or a turbocharged version of the same engine developing 160 horsepower. These engines are coupled with a synchromesh transmission with five forward and one reverse gear. The A-45 has a 4x4 drive and both axles have differential locks, and the suspension consists of leaf springs, with the front wheels also having shock absorbers. The brakes are power assisted. The A-45 can haul 4.05 tons on roads, tow 2 tons off roads, or 4 tons on roads.
