T-72M1 Moderna
Notes: This is an unusual Czech modification of the T-72, with a pair of Oerlikon KAA autocannons mounted on the turret for antiaircraft and antipersonnel work. The Moderna is usually equipped with reactive armor (TF, TS, HF), and has a computer-controlled fire system with a laser rangefinder. Thermal imaging is added. The Moderna is equipped with a system that detects laser targeting beams (but not the Shtora-1 countermeasure system). Some versions of this tank have 30mm 2A42 autocannons (such as those mounted on the BMP) instead of 20mm KAA autocannons; these are designated T-72M2. In the T-72M2, the twin autocannons are both mounted on the right side of the turret. The T-72M2 also has an upgraded fire control computer.
