YP-408
Notes: This elderly Dutch APC is basically the chassis of a Dutch truck long out of service fitted with an armored body and with an extra axle and wheels fitted to support the increased weight (the second axle is not powered). It was only found in reserves in Dutch service by 2000. It is otherwise a basic sort of APC, with a driver’s hatch on the front left deck, a commander’s hatch with a weapon mount on the front right, two large hatches on the rear deck, and two doors on the rear of the hull. Besides the APC version, there are several specialist versions, such as a combat engineer vehicle, ambulance, mortar carrier, and logistics carrier.
Twilight 2000 Notes: Many YP-408s were taken out of mothballs by Dutch resistance forces after the French invasion, but during the Twilight War, most of these old vehicles were found in the hands of the Portuguese Army, and in South America, in use by Surinam.
