MOWAG Grenadier
Notes: This is basically an updated version of the Roland. The body is basically the same, but has a lower silhouette with a lower profile turret. It is a larger vehicle than the Roland and can carry more troops and cargo. The Grenadier is amphibious and propelled in the water by a propeller. The Grenadier has optional air conditioning.

Notes: This is a small, light APC for use in the internal security role and as a patrol vehicle. There are two versions; the SW1 is a basic APC and does not mount armament. The SW2 has a light turret with a 20mm autocannon. In both cases, the vehicle has a two-part door in either side of the hull and a hatch on top (on top of the turret, in the case of the SW2). The front of the vehicle has bulletproof windshields with armored shutters. 20 of the SW1 versions were acquired by the German Border Police; the SW2 found no buyers.

MOWAG Roland
Notes: This light APC was built by MOWAG of Switzerland and taken into mainstream service with 6 countries before and limited service with 5 other countries (mostly in a police role). Manufacture stopped in 1980, except for spare parts. It is a very basic APC, with a boxy hull and topped with either a ring mount or a small turret with a weapon mount that allows the commander to aim and fire the weapon from within the vehicle. (Rolands with ring mounts have a Configuration of "Standard" and do not use the turret armor values.) The commander has a hatch either on top of the turret or inside the ring mount, and there is another hatch on the front deck for the driver. On each side of the vehicle is a door, and there is another in the rear; each door has a firing port. Some Rolands are equipped with up to two extra firing ports in each side. Rolands were made with both automatic and manual transmission, and the ones with automatic transmission weigh 200 kilograms more.
